Report: Russian govt mulls selling Rosneft to replenish state coffers

MOSCOW, Dec 29 (PRIME) -- The Russian government is preparing proposals on privatization of stakes in large companies including oil majors Rosneft and Bashneft that was nationalized in 2014 to reduce pressure on the budget, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov told channel Rossiya 24 in an interview broadcast Tuesday.

“The Russian government is preparing proposals on sale of stakes in large companies, which can replenish resource of our budget and reduce the reserve fund spending pressure. This is firstly Rosneft, and also the question of Bashneft and a wide range of other companies is being considered,” Siluanov said.
